| Review: | Very Disappointing Organization My experience at Inhispania was very disappointing. The classes were okay, however, the 'Survivor' class was a waste of time and money. As the title of the course indicates, it was meant for students who had little or no knowledge of Spanish. The instructor was completely unprepared. It actually seemed as though he had just woken up and didn't really know where he was. He would sit on the desk slumped over, speaking some what quietly, but very fast for about an hour. Every now and then he would ask us something. This is obviously not a great teaching method for most people, especially those who are begining language learners. On the other hand, my regular class instructor was very nice and helpful. Concerning the accommodation, the organization was awful. The quality of the flat was not terrible. It was pretty noisy and messy. However, that was to be expected in a shared housing arrangement in the center of Madrid. The problem was primarily with the coordination of the reservation system. The school and the owners of the accommodation were very unprofessional. For example, many people who reserved single rooms ended up with doubles. They also changed housing arrangements with little or no notice. In my case they gave my flat mate and me less than twelve hours notice to move to another flat. This notification was given to us on a Friday night after 9:30pm. We were really given no explaination either. Needless to say we were very angry. The next day when my Spanish friend spoke with one of the accomadation employees, he indicated that Inhispania is know for providing poor housing and told us a story about one student who complained about her accomadation and was then given a refund and asked not to return for her classes. If this is true, than I guess what happened to me was not so bad. As a result of these experiences, I do not recommend this school. |
