Great flexible tutors made me enjoy studying
I first went to Coffee, Tea & Mandarin language center as a beginning Mandarin speaker. I had tried 2 other teachers prior to finding Linlin but she definitely surpassed them in her ability to engage the learner. Here is very different. My teacher would take notes each lesson so she'd know what areas needed work, what was covered, etc. She would tell jokes (in Chinese) and draw pictures and/or stories on the board to help you remember vocabulary. When we were learning directions, she had made a huge 3D map with colored paper and glue and brought in toy cars and people. It was great to practice on and really helped me learn vocabulary and sentence structure. And her creative ideas for various scenarios (e.g. you're on a date but you really need to use a bathroom and the restaurant doesn't have one, how do you get to the public bathroom?) were awesome for trying out new sentence structures and vocabulary, not to mention hilarious. She was also eager to answer any questions I had and wasn't afraid to branch off on another topic of study not in her daily plan if I needed help in a different area. As a summary, you won't regret going with Coffee, Tea & Mandarin, they have great tutors! |
