| Review: | Great flexible tutors made me enjoy studying I first went to Coffee, Tea & Mandarin language center as a beginning Mandarin speaker. I had tried 2 other teachers prior to finding Linlin but she definitely surpassed them in her ability to engage the learner. Here is very different. My teacher would take notes each lesson so she'd know what areas needed work, what was covered, etc. She would tell jokes (in Chinese) and draw pictures and/or stories on the board to help you remember vocabulary. When we were learning directions, she had made a huge 3D map with colored paper and glue and brought in toy cars and people. It was great to practice on and really helped me learn vocabulary and sentence structure. And her creative ideas for various scenarios (e.g. you're on a date but you really need to use a bathroom and the restaurant doesn't have one, how do you get to the public bathroom?) were awesome for trying out new sentence structures and vocabulary, not to mention hilarious. She was also eager to answer any questions I had and wasn't afraid to branch off on another topic of study not in her daily plan if I needed help in a different area. As a summary, you won't regret going with Coffee, Tea & Mandarin, they have great tutors! Comments [ 0 ] |

| Review: | Great outcomes in such a short time I was in Shanghai for a month and was looking for a Mandarin school that would offer me one-on-one classes at an affordable price and the school needed to be located in the centre of Shanghai. Well, Coffee and Tea Mandarin achieved that and a lot more. My teacher Ruili proved to be very competent. I did not only learn how to speak Chinese with her but she also taught me about the Chinese culture and history. If you will be spending a short amount of time in Shanghai and want to learn Chinese for survival, then this place is just right. On top of that, Lin - the owner of the school - was very helpful and friendly. For example, she drew maps for me on how to get to places and introduce me to some of her friends to go out. I strongly recommend this school and will certainly come back next time I am in Shanghai. Comments [ 0 ] |
